The old city of Hyderabad has a distinct culture showcasing Islamic influences and a courtly presence. This sensory map focuses on the various sensory elements [smell, sound and taste] visually represented,  that one might come across around Charminar region.

Signifiers :​​​​​​​

Sound – Represented by sticks of different heights signifying the intensity of the particular sound. The various colors represent the different types of sounds. The spread of the thread shows the distance a particular sound travels and where it ultimately fades out.
Smell –  Represented by cotton showing the movement and flow of smell. The colors represent the various types of smell prominent in the specific area.
Taste – It is signified by the solid colored blocks representing the dominant type of food available in the specific areas. Each color signifies a particular taste.
